Mikov and Military Solidarity Fund launch project 'War veteran'
25. července 2019
Mikov in cooperation with the Military Solidarity Fund launched a project "War Veteran". During the initiation ceremony, the company presented a limited series of 200 pieces of officer knives M-1917 created on motives of personal weapons of war hero General Josef Bílý.
The project aims to connect the memory of the heroism of Czech and Czechoslovak soldiers and humanitarian aid survivors of fallen soldiers and soldiers who became seriously ill while performing their official duties.
“Every year we want to launch one knife, which will be inspired by some of the major military missions of our army. From each knife sold, we will then contribute to the Military Solidarity Fund. Specifically, the M-1917 will be CZK 500 for each piece sold, ”said Karel Ježek, director of Mikov.
Although this first knife-project is a limited edition of a copy of a historical weapon, other knives are already original pieces based on the designs made by major Roman Hippík. Another knife is known under the working title STORM. This knife will be a reminder of military participation in the so-called first Gulf War.
Established in 2015, the Military Solidarity Fund supports soldiers and their families who accidentally found themselves in a difficult life situation. Mikov as the largest Czech manufacturer of knives and office equipment, owned by the manufacturer of hand tools Narex Bystřice, with the project “War Veteran” establishes long-term and systematic financial support of the Military Solidarity Fund.
